SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University
women's tennis team defeated Hollins University, 8-1, here Saturday
at the SU Tennis Complex.
The Sea Gulls (7-4), ranked No. 14 in the Atlantic South region,
swept Hollins in doubles to grab three points to start off the
match. SU carried the momentum over to the singles matches as the
Sea Gulls won five of six possible points. Senior Jenny
Rosler defeated Maggie Bai in the match of the day, 6-3,
1-6, 10-8. Anne Marie Kable, Hannah
Parsons, Rachel Iosue, and Kelly
Fahrner each recorded straight set victories.
Barrett Jones edged Salisbury No. 1 singles player Erika
Mitry in three sets to earn Hollins' lone point. Mitry
teamed up with Rosler to beat Jones and Bai, 8-2, in No. 1 doubles.
The women's tennis team has little time to rest as they play
host to The College of New Jersey tomorrow (April 1) at 1:00 pm.
