YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury University freshman Victoria Radcliffe collected the first Capital Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Co-Athlete of the Week award of the season, announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Radcliffe recorded a fantastic start to her collegiate career with five first-place victories and two second-place finishes through a pair of meets last week. On Tuesday, the women's squad traveled to Rowan University for the first contest of the season, where the Ellicott City, Md., native claimed one of the two top finishes on the day for the Sea Gulls. Her first collegiate victory was in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:00.10.
In the first home meet of the season against conference foe Frostburg State University, Radcliffe led the Sea Gulls with four top honors in the 200 medley relay (2:15.58) , 50 breastroke (37.31), 200 individual medley (2:30.89), and 200 freestyle relay (2:01.18).
Through her first week, the freshman helped SU to 37 total points with two of her seven races recorded as exhibitions.
The swim teams take action next on Saturday, Nov. 2, as they take on Catholic University of America here at Maggs Physical Activity Center. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
