Knussman named CAC Defensive Player of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly women's soccer awards on Monday and Salisbury University senior Hope Knussman was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week.

The Sea Gulls played just one game last week at the University of Mary Washington, but Knussman stood up to every offering from the Eagles, making four saves in a 1-0 CAC victory to achieve her second shutout of the season.

Knussman is one of six CAC goalkeepers who have not allowed a goal in conference play, while she has made five saves in league play.

Knussman and the Sea Gulls are on the road on Wednesday, October 4 traveling to St. Mary's City, Maryland to take on the Seahawks. The game at St. Mary's College of Maryland will begin at 4 p.m.
