FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards for women's soccer on Monday and Salisbury University senior Ruthie Lucas was named the league's co-Player of the Week.
Lucas scored three times in the span of three games last week, putting home all of Salisbury's three goals in wins against Rutgers University-Newark and Southern Virginia University.
Lucas started with a goal just 13 minutes into the start of the Rutgers-Newark contest, and scored the game winner in the 64th minute after the Scarlet Raiders had tied the game.
In a 1-0 win against Southern Virginia, Lucas got the game's only goal just 91 seconds into the contest, and it held for her second game winner of the year and the seventh of her career.
Lucas and the Sea Gulls return to action on Saturday, September 30 when they travel to the University of Mary Washington.
