YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners and Salisbury University junior Sarah Pfundstein was named the league's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Pfundstein helped Salisbury to a 3-1 win against York (Pa.) College on Saturday at the SU Soccer Complex. The win broke a tie atop the CAC standings, as the Gulls improved to 5-0 in league play. Pfundstein came off the bench midway through the first half and needed just eight minutes to put home the equalizer, then added the game winner in the second half.
The scores marked the first multi-goal game of Pfundstein's career. She has now scored three goals in 2011.
Salisbury will be back in action on Saturday, traveling to Frostburg State University. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
