ECAC honors Conrad as South Defensive Player of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Salisbury University freshman goalkeeper Michelle Conrad helped lead the women's soccer team to three wins last week and was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Region Defensive Player of the Week.

The St. James, N.Y., native recorded two shutouts while allowing only one goal through three games. Conrad protected the net, making 14 saves while facing 26 shots in 258 minutes during the week.

The freshman made eight saves in a 3-0 victory over Rowan University, and continued the week by solidifying a 2-1 win against Christopher Newport University. Conrad finished the week by leading the Sea Gulls to a 2-0 victory over Hood College.

The team looks to continue its winning streak when hosting Marymount University in a Capital Athletic Conference game on Wednesday, Sept. 28, beginning at 4 p.m.
