Salisbury defeats CAC foe Wesley College, 4-0

DOVER, Del. - The Salisbury University women's soccer team defeated Capital Athletic Conference opponent Wesley College by a score of 4-0 on Tuesday evening. This is the Sea Gulls' second CAC victory of the season, bringing their conference record to a perfect 2-0, with an overall record of 4-1-2.

The Sea Gulls saw four different players score a goal in the match against the Wolverines (2-4, 0-2 CAC). Junior midfielder Sarah Koenig (White Plains, Md.) made the first score for Salisbury in the eighth minute of play, and later assisted junior midfielder Brenna Stuhler (Madison, N.J.) on a goal before the conclusion of the first half. Sophomore forward Sarah Jessilonis (Pasadena, Md.) and freshman midfielder Bonnie Sandone (Downingtown, Pa.) both scored insurance goals in the second half to seal the victory for the maroon and gold. Freshman goalkeeper Melissa Orgera (Arnold, Md.) picked up the win, making three saves in the game.

Salisbury will be at home for the next three consecutive games. The Sea Gulls will first host Christopher Newport University at the SU Soccer Complex on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. The maroon and gold will then host CAC foe Mary Washington on Oct. 3, and go up against The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey on Oct. 7.
