Sea Gulls rise in rankings, sit at No. 16 in nation

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's soccer team jumped three spots to No. 16 in the nation in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top 25 poll, released Tuesday. The Sea Gulls broke into the rankings for the first time last week at No. 19.

The maroon and gold are also ranked No. 2 in the South Atlantic region for the second consecutive week. Their most recent victory came against Capital Athletic Conference foe University of Mary Washington, where the Sea Gulls (6-1-2, 3-0 CAC) defeated the Eagles (8-2-2, 3-1-1 CAC) in a 2-1 overtime thriller at the SU Soccer Complex.

The Sea Gulls will remain at home for their next contest, as they face off against The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
