Richard Stockton edges Salisbury in second half, 3-1

POMONA, N.J. - The Salisbury University women's soccer team was defeated by the Ospreys of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, 3-1, in a non-conference road game on Wednesday night.

The game was scoreless through the first half but a strong Osprey attack led to three second half goals. The Ospreys (11-2-1) got on the board first with a goal from Leah Pocorba at the 51:41 mark. The Sea Gulls (4-4-4) would tie the game 16 minutes later on a long range goal by senior defenseman Kelli Salter. The Ospreys regained the lead six minutes later for good on a Shelley Gibney goal. Amanda Altman scored the final goal in the 80th minute.

Richard Stockton goalie Alex Rogers tallied three saves in the victory. SU senior goalie Gena Goodson made five saves in the loss. This is the most goals the Sea Gulls have surrendered this season.

The Ospreys held a 10-5 advantage in shots as Salisbury tallied four corner kicks to Richard Stockton's two.

Salisbury will host Capital Athletic Conference foe Marymount (Va.) University on Tuesday, October 14, at 4 p.m. at the SU Soccer Complex.
