Weaver selected to NSCAA Scholar All-East Region

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The postseason accolades keep piling up for Salisbury University women's soccer star Kate Weaver. The senior forward was recently named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Women's College Scholar All-East region as an honorable mention selection. This award is comprised of Division I, II and III student-athletes.

This is the second national academic award for Weaver this school year as she was selected to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women's Soccer First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), back on November 29. She became the 14th Sea Gull to earn Academic All-America honors in the College Division since 2001.

The Abingdon, Md., native holds a 4.0 grade point average and is a math major. She is one of three student-athletes out of 124 selections to the All-East region to hold a 4.0 cumulative grade point average.

Weaver, the CAC Women's Soccer Player of the Year and a two-time All-CAC first team selection, led the team in nearly all offensive categories including goals (11), assists (eight), points (30), shots (63), shots on goal (43) and game-winning goals (five). The Sea Gulls went 14-4-1 in 2007 with a return trip to the NCAA Division III tournament.

For her career she ranks third all-time in goals (36), fourth all-time in assists (17) and is tied for second all-time in points (89).
