OWINGS MILLS, Md.- The Salisbury University
women's soccer team remained unbeaten this season as they beat
Capital Athletic Conference foe Villa Julie College 1-0 Saturday
afternoon in front of a crowd of 100.
The Sea Gulls (5-0-1, 2-0 CAC) had 12 first half shots and the
first and only shot by senior Robyn Bishop found
the back of the net at the 36 minute mark to give the Gulls a 1-0
lead at halftime.
SU outshot the Mustangs 19-11 for the game and the Gull defense was
anchored by goalie Kristin Greene (3-0) made four
second half saves (six for the game) to preserve the win. Salisbury
earned seven corner kicks to VJC's one.
Mustang goalie Casey Brown made nine saves in the loss for VJC
(4-3). SU leading scorer Kate Weaver got off six
shots, four on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net to break
her five-game streak with at least one point.
Salisbury returns to action as they face Christopher Newport
University on Tuesday, September 25, at 4:30 p.m. at the Sea Gull
Soccer Complex.
