COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Senior forward Kate
Weaver scored the only two goals of the game and junior
goalie Gena Goodson recorded six saves as the
Salisbury University women's soccer team rolled to a 2-0 win over
Ursinus College on Saturday afternoon.
Weaver scored her first goal at the 25th minute mark off an
assist freshman Sara Koenig and 12 minutes later
headed home her second strike of the contest off a feed from junior
Kelli Salter.
The two Weaver goals moves her into fourth place on SU's
all-time goals list as she has totaled 29 for her career.
The Bears (1-1-1) outshot the Sea Gulls 12-5 but lost in the
advantage of corner kicks, 5-1. Goodson registered five saves in
the second half to help preserve the win for the Gulls (3-0).
The Sea Gulls return to action on Wednesday, September 12, as
they host No. 4 Virginia Wesleyan at the SU Soccer Complex for a
4:30 p.m. game.
