Women’s lacrosse checks in at No. 3 in latest IWLCA poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the Division III Coaches Poll on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University came in at No. 3 in the national rankings.

The Sea Gulls fell two spots from No. 1 after suffering their first loss of the season on Friday at then-No. 3 The College of New Jersey. Salisbury received 563 total points to come in at No. 3. The Sea Gulls went 2-1 last week with Capital Athletic Conference wins over Marymount (Va.) University and Frostburg State University, outscoring the two teams 37-7.

TCNJ took over the No. 1 spot with 617 points and 21 first-place votes. Amherst College jumped two spots to No. 2 with 574 points and the remaining four first-place votes. Gettysburg College dropped two spots to No. 4 with 539 points, edging out York College of Pennsylvania, which climbed two spots to No. 5 with 538 points after defeating the Bullets 14-12 on Friday.

The University of Mary Washington rounds out the trio of CAC teams in the top 10, remaining at No. 9 with 428 points.

Salisbury concludes its regular season on Wednesday, April 25 as the team travels to take on St. Mary's College of Maryland at 4 p.m.
