SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University women's lacrosse senior goalkeeper Gianna Falcone received two more honors for her play last week, getting named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Defensive Player of the Week and Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Region Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 25.
Falcone recorded a 6.50 goals against average and 62.9 save percentage in a 2-0 week over nationally-ranked opponents for No. 3 Salisbury. The Florham Park, New Jersey native made 22 saves while allowing just 13 goals, helping the Sea Gulls improve to 8-0 on the year.
Falcone made nine saves on 17 shots on goal in a 12-8 win over then-No. 13 William Smith College. She then held No. 5 York College of Pennsylvania to just five goals on 18 shots on net, making a season-high 13 saves for a 72.2 save percentage. Falcone added six ground balls in the win over the Spartans.
