SALISBURY, Md. – For the second year in a row, senior Megan Wallenhorst was named to the Division III College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, the organization announced Thursday.
Wallenhorst has been a dominant force on the field for Salisbury this season, leading the team to its 16th Capital Athletic Conference championship and the program's 17th NCAA tournament appearance.
The senior captain leads the Sea Gulls with a team-high 62 points, leading the team with 37 assists and scoring the second-most goals on the squad with 25.
The Ellicott City, Maryland native has also been a top performer in the classroom, boasting a 4.0 GPA as a business accounting major. To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.30 grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve on her team.
To add to her accolades for the year, she was honored by the CAC as its women's lacrosse co-Player of the Year, as well as an Offensive Player of the Week twice, along with earning a spot on the All-CAC first team.
As a member of the at-large team, Wallenhorst is one of just 10 players in District 2 selected to the team, out of student-athletes nominated from field hockey, swimming, tennis, lacrosse, water polo, and golf.
All-District selections are eligible for selection to the Academic All-America Team, which will be announced later this month.
