GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its 2015 North-South All-Star Game rosters Thursday, and Salisbury University women's lacrosse will be well represented by seniors Kate Haker and Hayden Hutzell on the Division III South squad.
Haker, an attacker for the Sea Gulls, put together an astounding career the past four seasons. Finishing with 174 points totaled off of 105 goals and 69 assists, the Westminster, Maryland native was a crucial piece to the offensive puzzle during her time donning the maroon and gold. In 2015, she found the back of the cage 29 times and sent out 13 helpers, third best on the squad in both categories.
Hutzell, a defender for Salisbury, was a key piece in an unbreakable wall the past four years. Moving fully to defense from the midfield her senior season, she helped solidify a backline that lost several members following the 2014 season. Becoming even stronger this season, the Sea Gull defense finished second in the nation in scoring defense, only allowing 5.72 goals per game. Hutzell being a crucial part of that, caused 12 turnovers this season, while scooping 21 ground balls and winning 11 draw controls.
The IWLCA has honored 132 senior student-athletes with selection to one of the 2015 North-South rosters. The 2015 North-South games will take place at Cabrini College, in Radnor, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Game times are set as followed: Division I at 11:30 a.m., Division II at 12:45 p.m., and Division III at 2 p.m.
