YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly women's lacrosse awards on Monday and Salisbury University senior Kara O'Rourke was honored as the Offensive Player of the Week.
The attacker and the Sea Gulls (11-3, 7-0 CAC) went 2-1 this week, defeating St. Mary's College of Maryland,13-3, and Christopher Newport University, 15-2, before falling to then-No. 14 The College of New Jersey, 10-3, on Sunday.
O'Rourke had a total of 13 points this week off 11 assists and two goals. The 11 helpers moved her total to 39 for the season, placing her fourth in the nation in the category and No. 1 in the CAC; she's clear of the second-highest assist total in the league by 16 assists.
The women will travel to Arlington, Virginia this Wednesday, April 15, for their final regular-season game to take on Marymount (Va.) University. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
