DANBURY, Conn. – A career week for junior attacker Megan Wallenhorst of the No. 6 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team has led to another accolade, the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced, as the Ellicott City, Maryland native earned Division III Mid-Atlantic Offensive Player of the Week.
Guiding the Sea Gulls (7-2, 3-0 CAC) to a 2-0 week, Wallenhorst recorded nine goals and two assists for an 11-point effort through the two games. Against then-No. 1 Franklin & Marshall College, she found the back of the net late in the game to not only give her a hat trick, but also give Salisbury the final lead to secure an 8-7 upset.
The junior followed up with a career-high six goals and an assist later in the week against Capital Athletic Conference foe University of Mary Washington.
Wallenhorst has now gone three-consecutive games with at least three goals and four points.
The Sea Gulls are back in action on Wednesday, April 1, as they travel up Route 13 for a conference tilt against Wesley College. First draw is set for 4 p.m.
