BALTIMORE – In the 10th weekly poll for Division III by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, the Salisbury University women's lacrosse team remained at No. 2, the organization announced Monday.
After claiming their 14th Capital Athletic Conference title over the weekend, the Sea Gulls head into the NCAA Division III women's lacrosse tournament with an 18-1 record. Salisbury's only loss this season was to the top-ranked team in the country, the State University of New York at Cortland, which remains 19-0 and received all 400 first-place points for the second week in a row.
Trinity (Conn.) College comes in at No. 3 with 359 points and a 15-2 record, as The College of New Jersey and Amherst College round out the top five with 339 and 313 points, respectively.
The NCAA tournament kicks off for the women on Saturday, May 10, after earning a first-round bye, as Salisbury welcomes Farmingdale State College to Sea Gull Stadium for a second-round tilt; the time is to be announced.
