Salisbury holds No. 1 in IWLCA and Lacrosse Magazine

BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University women's lacrosse team remains at No. 1 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll and the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, the organizations announced on Monday.

The Sea Gulls registered two more victories this week, over Wesley College, 20-6, and Frostburg State University, 16-6, to extend their record to 12-0.

SU received 260 first-place points, while No. 2 State University of New York at Cortland recorded 120 points and No.3 Amherst College tallied the remaining 20. No. 4 The College of New Jersey with 334 points and No. 5 Middlebury College with 324 points rounded out the top five for the IWLCA poll.

In the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, the top three remained the same as last week, with SU being followed by No. 2 Cortland and No. 3 Amherst. TCNJ at four and Middlebury at five switched places in the rankings this week.

The women travel to Newport News, Va., on Tuesday to take on Christopher Newport University, for their next match. First draw is set for 5 p.m.
