YORK, Pa. – Senior goalkeeper Ashton Wheatley added another accolade to the 2014 season being recognized as the season's first Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the Capital Athletic Conference, the organization announced Tuesday.

Lacrosse Magazine's Preseason Player of the Year tallied 14 saves through two games to start this season, helping the No. 1 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team to a 2-0 start and extending its winning streak to 25. In the victories over Roanoke College and No. 19 Stevenson University, the captain has begun another great season with a 3.70 goals-against average.
