YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly player of the week awards and Salisbury University sophomore Laura Maskell was named CAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
In three games last week, Maskell caused eight turnovers and picked up seven ground balls. In a 21-2 win over Marymount (Va.) University, the Ellicott City, Md., native set new career-highs with six ground balls and five caused turnovers.
This is the sixth time this season that a Sea Gull has been named CAC Player of the Week.
Salisbury is next in action this Wednesday, April 10, traveling to Wesley College. That game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. With a win over the Wolverines, Salisbury would break the College of Notre Dame of Maryland's all-time Division III record for consecutive conference wins.
