GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released its top 20 poll and the Salisbury University women's lacrosse team remains at No. 2 for the seventh-consecutive poll, the organization announced Tuesday. The Sea Gulls were awarded four fewer first-place votes this week, allowing top-ranked Trinity (Conn.) College to distance itself from Salisbury.
SU (8-0) kept four first-place votes and garnered 384 points.
Trinity (7-0) remains at No. 1 with 16 first-place votes and 396 points.
There was a shakeup in the rankings behind the Sea Gulls this week. At No. 3 this week is Middlebury College (8-0), moving up one spot from last week. The Panthers have 354 points and are followed by the team they traded places with, the State University of New York at Cortland (7-1). The Red Dragons were awarded 342 points this week.
Remaining at No. 5 this week is Gettysburg College (8-1), with 313 points.
The Capital Athletic Conference again has two member institutions in this week's poll. Behind Salisbury is York (Pa.) College (8-2), at No. 11 with 177 points.
