Salisbury finishes the season ranked No. 2 in final IWLCA poll

CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. - The final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) weekly poll was released on Thursday and Salisbury University dropped to No. 2. The Sea Gulls (20-2), who reached the 2009 NCAA Division III national championship game, collected 379 total points.

National Champion Franklin & Marshall College (21-1) garnered all 20 first-place votes and 400 points. Hamilton College (16-3) moved from No. 5 to No. 3 as the Continentals received 345 points. Gettysburg College (16-4) jumped from No. 7 to No. 4 as the Bullets collected 343 points. The top four teams were all represented in national semifinals. The College of New Jersey (16-3) rounds out the top five as the Lions amassed 309 points.

Capital Athletic Conference member University of Mary Washington (14-8) received recognition from the IWLCA as the Eagles collected votes.

The Sea Gulls bring back a strong core for the 2010 season which includes 2009 All-American Beth Rhodey and all-region performer Jess Glazer. SU is set to return 20 letterwinners.
