Osipowich named CAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference player of the week awards and Salisbury University sophomore attacker Megan Osipowich was named the women's lacrosse honoree for the week of April 20. This is the first time that Osipowich has received this honor in her career at SU. This is the fifth time this season a Sea Gull women's lacrosse player has received this award.
Osipowich scored a career-high five goals as the top-ranked Sea Gulls defeated University of Mary Washington, 15-4, on Wednesday, April 15. The Hauppauge, N.Y., native also scooped up two ground balls, won one draw control and caused one turnover in the game. With the victory, SU clinched the regular-season title and the top-seed in the upcoming CAC tournament. This season she has accumulated 25 points on 18 goals and seven assists to go with seven caused turnovers.
The four other SU award winners of the CAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honor include senior Sonja Stuart (April 20), junior Beth Rhodey (April 6), junior Kim Cudmore (March 23) and sophomore Logan Bilderback (March 9).
The No. 1 seed Sea Gulls will begin their quest at a seventh consecutive, ninth overall, CAC title when they host fourth-seed Stevenson University in a CAC semifinal game on Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m.
