No. 2 Sea Gulls, warm Florida sun bothers the No. 8 Polar Bears

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - It was an early start to the day as the No. 2 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team faced off with No. 8 Bowdoin College at 9 a.m. on a sunny Monday morning in West Palm Beach, Fla. The Sea Gulls jumped out early on the Polar Bears and coasted to a 15-8 victory.

Salisbury (10-0) was led offensively by senior All-American Sue Ackermann's six goals and one assist. Senior Jessica Liston and junior Robyn Bishop and Jessica Chmielewski scored two goals apiece in the seven-goal win. Chmielewski passed out a team-high four assists to record a six-point game. Sophomores Beth Rhodey, Kim Cudmore and junior Courtney Sorenson scored a goal each for the maroon and gold. Junior Ashleigh Gender and freshman Logan Bilderback had one assist each in the win. Junior Sonja Stuart played the entire game in goal for the Sea Gulls as she is now 10-0 in between the pipes for SU.

The Polar Bears, from Brunswick, Maine, are now 3-1 on the season.

The Sea Gulls will next play host to Roanoke College on Saturday, March 22, at 2 p.m. in Sea Gull Stadium.
