NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Capital Athletic
Conference announced its weekly conference athlete of the week
awards and Salisbury University junior Jessica
Chmielewski (Woodbine, Md.) was named the
women's lacrosse co-recipient for the week of March 31. This is the
third straight week a Sea Gull has earned this award after
senior Sue Ackermann won back-to-back
honors.
Chmielewski scored the game's first two goals and assisted on
the final goal as the No. 2 Sea Gulls knocked off No. 1 Franklin
& Marshall, 9-7, last Saturday at home. Earlier in the week,
the midfielder had a career-high eight assists against Wesley. The
eight points were also a career high.
She shares the award with Marymount (Va.) University junior
Springanne Hatfield, who set a new school record with 10 goals and
three assists in a win over Shenandoah.
Salisbury will host Ursinus College on Tuesday, April 1, in the
first-ever women's lacrosse night game at Sea Gull Stadium. The
non-conference game begins at 6 p.m.
