Ackermann named CAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference athlete of the week awards and Salisbury University senior Sue Ackermann (Sykesville, Md./Liberty) was named the women's lacrosse recipient for the week of March 17.

Ackermann recorded a career-high 12 points (seven goals, five assists) against No. 15 SUNY Cortland last Saturday as No. 2 Salisbury University won 22-9. She also added seven points (two goals, five assists) in the team's win over Marymount (Va.) University on March 10 as the Gulls won 20-9. The attacker also recorded three points (two goals, one assist) in SU's 21-2 win over Villa Julie College on March 11. She leads the team with 63 points in nine games played so far this season. For the week she tallied 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists), averaged 3.67 goals per game with a scoring percentage of .579.

Ackermann is the first Sea Gull to earn a CAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week award this spring season.

Salisbury is currently in Florida for its Spring Break trip this week.
