Degele named Player of the Week by Inside Lacrosse magazine

BALTIMORE - Inside Lacrosse magazine named Salisbury senior attacker Natalie Degele the Division III women's lacrosse National Player of the Week for the week ending April 16.

Her stat line of two goals and an assist may not jump off the page from Saturday's match-up with defending national champ and fifth-ranked TCNJ, but the Ellicott City, Md., native provided the game's most dramatic moment - a goal off of a free position shot with 42 ticks left on the clock to send the second-ranked Gulls to a nailbiting 13-12 come-from-behind victory. Salisbury netted the game's final four goals to send the team to its 13th win on the year.

In addition to the National Player of the Week honors, she also earned the Eastern College Athletic Conference South Player of the Week award.

Degele is now the second Sea Gull to be honored as Player of the Week by Inside Lacrosse magazine as fellow attacker Sue Ackermann garnered the award for the week ending March 19.
