Sea Gulls to host fifth straight NCAA Regional

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA announced its field for the 2007 Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship and for the fifth consecutive season Salisbury University has been selected as one of four regional host sites.

The No. 2 Sea Gulls (18-1), winners of the Capital Athletic Conference for the fifth straight year, will await the first round winner between No. 20 Washington & Lee and Wooster. SU will play on Saturday, May 12, at 11:30 a.m.

In the bottom half of Salisbury's region, No. 18 Nazareth (13-2) will play the first round winner between Colorado College and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The Nazareth game will be played on Saturday, May 12, at 2:30 p.m.

No. 1 Franklin & Marshall, No. 3 Middlebury and No. 4 Gettysburg are the other regional host sites for the tournament.

University of Mary Washington, runners-up in the CAC, earned an at-large bid into the tournament and will face Eastern in the first round of the Franklin & Marshall regional.

The two-time defending national champions The College of New Jersey, ranked No. 5 in the country, will face the winner of No. 9 SUNY Cortland and Western New England in the Middlebury regional.

The winner of the Franklin & Marshall regional will face the Gettysburg regional winner and the Salisbury regional winner will square off against the Middlebury regional winner in the Final Four being held at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, N.Y. (May 19-20).

Last season Salisbury was eliminated in the regional final by TCNJ, 6-5. SU has made NCAA appearances in eight of the past nine seasons. 2007 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament Bracket
