FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its 2018-2019 women's basketball preseason coach's poll on Thursday morning, and the Salisbury University women's basketball team was picked to finish in a tie for fourth place.
Last year's CAC runner-up Christopher Newport University was tabbed to finish in the top spot this season, receiving a total of 46 points, including five first-place votes.
York College of Pennsylvania is ranked just below the Captains with 43 points while receiving two first-place votes.
The University of Mary Washington received the final first-place vote and 40 points, giving it the third spot in the poll.
Frostburg State University finished in a tie with Salisbury for fourth in the poll, with both schools receiving 28 points.
The Sea Gulls reached the CAC tournament for the seventh straight season last year, compiling a 15-11 overall record and a CAC record of 10-8.
Salisbury tips off the season on Wednesday, November 14 at home against Virginia Wesleyan University. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
