The Salisbury University women’s basketball team picked up its first Capital Athletic Conference victory of the season with a 65-53 win against visiting Penn State University Harrisburg in the Sea Gulls’ home opener for the 2017-18 season on Saturday, December 2 at Maggs Physical Activities Center. The Sea Gulls were paced by junior Megan Konig, who scored a game-high tying 17 points, 10 of which came after halftime. She connected on two of her three tries from beyond the arc in the game. Senior Mary McDonagh had the assist on the Konig three-pointer, and this jumper from Paige Bryce as McDonagh struggled from the floor but made a big impact with her passing, dishing out nine assists, eight of which came after halftime. Bryce came up big, hitting 7-of-9 attempts from the floor for 14 points. She also pulled down a team-high-tying eight rebounds on the afternoon and dished out four assists. On the blocks, center Rachel Ryan had 10 points to go with six rebounds, three of which came on the offensive end of the floor. The Sea Gulls will be back in Maggs on Wednesday, December 6, hosting Marymount University in another CAC contest. The game will tipoff at 5:30 p.m.
