VIDEO: Women's basketball defeats St. Mary's (Md.)
The Salisbury University women’s basketball team hosted St. Mary’s College of Maryland on Wednesday night, defeating the Seahawks 55-44 for a critical Capital Athletic Conference win. Freshman Courtney Brigham scored a career high 16 points on the night, shooting 41 percent from the field. Brigham also contributed seven rebounds, with four coming on the offensive end. Kaylyn French combined with Brigham to score 18 of Salisbury’s first 20 points in the game, including this nice step-through layup. French finished the game with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Senior Paige Bryce helped seal the game for the Sea Gulls, scoring nine of her 13 points in the fourth quarter. Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, January 13 against Southern Virginia University. The Sea Gulls and Knights will tip off at 1 p.m.
