VIDEO: Women's basketball beats Frostburg State
The Salisbury University women’s basketball team picked up a big Capital Athletic Conference victory over Frostburg State University on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Bobcats 60-46 to move to 7-7 in conference play. Junior Kaylyn French got the Sea Gulls off to a quick start, scoring the first six points of the game and 11 in the first quarter. French scored a career-high 25 points on 55.6 percent shooting from the field. The forward recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 rebounds, which tied a season high. Paige Bryce joined French in double figures with 10 points, six of which came in the final quarter. French and Bryce combined for 16 points in the fourth period to put the game away for the Sea Gulls. Bryce added six rebounds and two blocks in the win. Salisbury dominated inside, outrebounding Frostburg State 49-32 on the afternoon. Rachel Ryan recorded 11 of those rebounds, with six coming on the offensive end. Salisbury begins a three game road trip on Wednesday, February 7 at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The Sea Gulls and Seahawks will tip off at 6 p.m.
