SALISBURY, Md. – The impending winter weather event that is expected to impact the Mid-Atlantic Region this weekend has forced adjustments to the schedules of all of this weekend's Salisbury University athletic events.
The men's and women's track & field teams will not travel to the Collegeville Classic, hosted by Ursinus College, which was scheduled for Saturday, while the men's and women's basketball doubleheader scheduled at Penn State University-Harrisburg for Saturday has been postponed.
The entire slate of Capital Athletic Conference basketball games scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Monday night, with the Salisbury-Harrisburg doublesheader set to begin at 6 p.m., with the women's game. The men's contest is scheduled to tip at 8 p.m.
The Salisbury women head into the game looking to repeat their effort against the Lions on December 9, when the Sea Gulls won 65-55. Senior Julia McLaughlin led the way that night with a game-high 18 points.
The Salisbury men currently sit second in the CAC standings, with a 6-3 record in league play this year. The Sea Gulls are the top-rated defense in Division III basketball, surrendering just 58.8 points per game.
The games on Monday will be the start of a three-game road stretch for the basketball teams, where the Sea Gulls visit Harrisburg, St. Mary's College of Maryland, and York College of Pennsylvania.
The track & field teams have been able to compete in one event this season, and will continue the indoor season, where the men are ranked No. 19 nationally, on Friday and Saturday, January 29 and 30, at the George Mason University Open in Fairfax, Virginia.
