VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - In the consolation game
of the Subway Invitational the Salisbury University women's
basketball team knocked off St. Olaf (Minn.), 77-66, at the Batten
Center on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan College.
For the second straight day senior Jessica
Mills was the high scorer for Salisbury as she scored 25
points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor. Sophomore
Lindsey Martin provided solid minutes off the
bench as she added 17 points and eight rebounds.
The Sea Gulls (1-1) had two other players in double figures
scoring, as freshman Janay Johnson scored 14
points and added a team high nine rebounds while senior
Meghan Klug scored 10 of her own points.
Salisbury scored 25 points off 29 St. Olaf turnovers and
dominated the paint outscoring St. Olaf 28-12.
Despite trailing at halftime, 39-22, the Sea Gulls scored 45
second half points to put the Oles away.
The Sea Gulls will return to action on Tuesday, November 21 as
they host Wesley College in their home opener at 5:30 p.m.
