FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its 2019 All-CAC Outdoor Track & Field teams on Wednesday afternoon and Salisbury University had 20 student-athletes earn conference honors being named to both the first and second teams.
Five individuals earned first-team accolades on the women's side while both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams also landed on the first team.
The combination of Alicia Meier, Glory Ebinama, Jamie Farley, and Ashley Luton earned first-team recognition after their victory in the 4x100-meter relay. Meanwhile, in the 4x400-meter relay team of T'Aira Hairston, Farley, Meier, and Caitlyn Rishell earned a spot on the first team after their victory in the event.
Four Sea Gulls also earned second-team recognition led by Farley, who picked up two second-team awards, in both 200 and 400-meter dashes. Joining Farley on the second team were Ebinama, for her performance in the 100-meter dash, and Alyssa McCloskey, for her performance in the 800-meter dash. Hairston rounded out the list of second-team honorees as she finished second in the 400-meter hurdles.
Michael Millemann and Zachary Stump led the men's team as each garnered individual first-team accolades. Millemann earned the honor after a victory in the javelin toss while Stump picked up his first all-CAC honor behind a win in the pole vault.
Both the men's 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays teams also picked up first team honors as both earned victories in their respective events. The combination of Justin Williams, Michael Van Gieson, Alex Hardman, and Jeffrey McInnis earned first-team recognition in the 4x100-meter relay. Meanwhile, Hardman, Van Gieson, Isaiah Myers, and Ethan Binnix all received first-team recognition after their victory in the 4x400-meter relay.
McInnis also earned second-team honors for his performance in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Van Gieson joined McInnis on the second-team as he ran to a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash. Conner Masteran rounded out the list of second-team honorees after posting a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.
Salisbury returns to action on Monday, May 13 when it travels to the SWAT Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore College. The meet is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
