DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference released its weekly awards for the week ending February 3. Kyleigh Dumas, Jamie Farley, and Donovan Beckett-Simms earned recognition from the organization, as Dumas and Farley were named the Division III South Region Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively. Meanwhile, Beckett-Simms was named the Division III South Region Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
All three athletes earned recognition from the Capital Athletic Conference earlier in the week, as each were named Athletes of the Week for their outstanding performances at the Eastern Shore Invite.
Dumas broke the school record in the pole vault, capturing a first-place finish while also breaking the school record in the process. She cleared the bar at a height of 11' 3.75" breaking the previous record held by Sarah Taylor in 2014-15, who posted a height of 11' 1.75".
Farley went on to break the school record in the 400-meter dash, which was last set by her during the 2017 season. She picked up a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash, coming home in a time of 58.38 seconds. Her time in the 400-meter currently ranks 11th in the country. Farley also turned in an impressive performance in the 200-meter dash, coming home in a time of 26.17 seconds to finish third overall.
Beckett-Simms broke the school record in the triple jump, posting a jump of 47' 1" to not only break the record, but also win the event. His jump broke the previous mark of 46' 7.25" set last season by current teammate Matthew Adedeji.
Salisbury returns to action on Friday, February 16 when it travels to Christopher Newport University for the CAC Championships. The meet is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
