Salisbury turns in impressive performance at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – The Salisbury University track & field team traveled to Widener University Thursday afternoon for the Widener 2017 Mideast Invitational. Both Andrew Volz and Duncan Ferrin posted new personal records to highlight the afternoon. 

Volz got things started for the Sea Gulls with a second-place finish in the shot put. Volz recorded a throw of 50' 6", which is a new personal record.

Teammate Graham Hensley finished just behind his teammate coming in fourth after recording a throw of 46' 10".

Ferrin captured a third-place finish in the discus while also recording a personal record. Ferrin posted a throw of 148' 10". Volz finished just behind his teammate placing sixth respectively recording a toss of 132' 3".

Ferrin also went on to post a personal record in the hammer throw recording a distance of 172' 11". With the throw Ferrin earned a second-place finish.

Salisbury will now wait to see who will qualify for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The championships are scheduled to start on Thursday, May 25.
