Halton breaks school record as he qualifies for finals

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Salisbury University track & field junior Eric Halton competed in the 400-meter dash preliminaries at the 2017 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by North Central College. Halton completed the race in a time of 48.85 seconds to secure a spot in the finals on Saturday.

His time of 48.85 seconds is a new school record for Salisbury as Halton broke the previous record of 49.05 seconds held Cory Beebe, which was set back in 2010.

Halton will compete in the finals on Saturday, March 11 and will be the sixth seeded runner. The race is set to take place at 3:15 p.m.
