Men's track & field holds top-20 spot in both national rankings

NEW ORLEANS – The Salisbury University men's track & field team held on to its No. 13 ranking in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Team Computer Rankings. The Sea Gulls also moved to No. 20 in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Team Dual Meet Rankings.

The Gulls tallied 65.95 points in the USTFCCCA computer rankings, following a successful meet at the Christopher Newport University New Captains' Classic on Saturday. The team finished the meet with five first-place finishes, with senior Luke Campbell, junior Jerel Madison, and sophomores Zach Schmelz and Eric Halton setting the sixth-best time in the country in the 4x400-meter relay (3:16.75).

In the dual meet rankings, Salisbury garnered 174.64 points for the 20th spot.

The Sea Gulls are next in action in the Capital Athletic Conference outdoor championships at Frostburg State University on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23. The meet is set to begin at 3 p.m., on Friday.
