NEW ORLEANS – The Salisbury University men's and women's track & field teams remained in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association NCAA Division III Track & Field Team Dual Meet Rankings, the organization announced on Thursday.
The Salisbury men's team came in at No. 10 with 169.96 points, and the women's team placed 16th with 127.54 points.
Both teams are coming off of strong showings at the Colonial Relays at the College of William and Mary on Saturday, led by senior Luke Campbell and junior Meghan McGowan. Campbell paced the men by taking first in the 400-meter hurdles (51.24 seconds) and second in the 110-meter hurdles (14.40 seconds). McGowan led the women, placing ninth in the high jump with a 5' 3" effort.
The men currently lead the Mideast Region in the rankings with their 169.96 points, while the women placed second in the region with their total.
The dual meet rankings are designed to show how full track & field teams with at least two athletes per event would fare in head-to-head competition.
The Sea Gulls are back in action on Saturday, April 16 at the Christopher Newport University Captains' Classic; the meet is set for 9 a.m.
