STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Salisbury University men's and women's track & field teams competed in their final indoor meet before the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships, with day one of the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships taking place on Friday.
Senior Luke Campbell led the Sea Gull men's team, running in the preliminary race for the 60-meter hurdles. He placed first in the race in a time of 8.07 seconds to qualify for the finals on Saturday, March 5.
Junior Jerel Madison also ran for the men in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, setting a personal record of 7.06 seconds and finishing 10th.
For the Salisbury women, sophomore Christine Randall led the way on day one, finishing ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 34' 4".
Sophomore Chanel Beaudoin ran in the 60-meter dash, finishing 21st in 8.05 seconds.
The Sea Gulls will continue the ECAC championships on Saturday, March 5. The teams will also compete in their first outdoor action of 2016, hosting the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet at the SU Track on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
