DANBURY, Conn. – Salisbury University men's track & field senior Luke Campbell notched his third weekly award for this week, as the Eastern College Athletic Conference honored Campbell as the ECAC Division III South Men's Athlete of the Week, the organization announced.
Campbell tallied two first-place finishes at the Patriot Games on Saturday, taking over the top spot in the country in both the 400-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles. He finished the 400 in 49.07 seconds, which was only .02 seconds off of the Salisbury program record, just after notching an 8.04-second effort in the 60 hurdles.
He also helped the Gulls' 4x400-meter relay team to third place in the race with a 3:21.17 finish; that time currently ranks fourth in the country.
The Sea Gulls continue their season on Saturday, February 6 in the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport University; the meet is set to begin at 9 a.m.
