Salisbury heads to championships ranked No. 7

NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association announced is final NCAA Division III computer rankings for the 2015 season, and the Salisbury University men's team was ranked No. 7 in the country.

The Sea Gulls earned 85.72 points in the rankings to maintain a spot in the top 10 to end the regular season and head into the NCAA Division III championships.

The Sea Gulls will be sending seven men and one woman to compete in the championships in a combined nine events.

No. 1 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (217.51 points), No. 2 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (197.25 points), and No. 3 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (110.19 points) stayed put in the top-three spots, while No. 4 St. Olaf College moved into the top five with 102.39 points. No. 5 Monmouth (Ill.) University rounded out the top five with 89.85 points.

The NCAA championships are set to begin on Thursday, May 21 and span through Saturday, May 23; the Sea Gulls first event will be at 3:30 p.m., on Thursday.
