DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced its weekly track & field awards on Wednesday, and Salisbury University junior Luke Campbell was named the Division III South Athlete of the Week for his performance in this past weekend's Capital Athletic Conference championship.
Campbell placed first in four events at the championship, with two individual titles and two relay titles, while helping the Sea Gulls to their fourth-consecutive team championship, and 16th CAC title overall.
Campbell defended his league crowns in both the 110- and 400-meters with times of 14.37 seconds and 51.82 seconds, respectively. The time in the 400-meter hurdles was good for a CAC championship record. Campbell was also a part of the Sea Gulls' wins in the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay victories.
Campbell looks to potentially compete in all four events at the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, currently ranking first in the nation in the 110-meter hurdles and third in the 400-meter hurdles, while the two relay teams rank in the top seven in the country.
