NEW ORLEANS – The Salisbury University men's track & field team kept a hold of a spot among the top 15 teams in the country, coming in at No. 12 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Division III computer rankings, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Salisbury garnered 72.94 points in the rankings to earn its spot.
The Sea Gulls most recently competed in the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational at Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, taking first over with 181 points, while tallying seven individual and one relay first-place finishes.
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse was the only team in the top five to keep its spot from last week, keeping hold of the No. 1 ranking in the country with 192.22 points. No. 2 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater jumped up three spots with 141.27 points, forcing No. 3 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (140.65 points), No.4 North Central (Ill.) College (120.41 points), and No. 5 University of Mount Union (90.91 points) to each drop one spot.
Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, April 18 at Christopher Newport University for the Captains' Classic; the meet is set for 9 a.m.
