YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its men's and women's track & field Athletes of the Week, and Salisbury University junior Luke Campbell was named the conference's men's Track Athlete of the Week, while sophomore Meghan McGowan was named the women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Campbell earned his second outdoor CAC Athlete of the Week of the year after a strong meet at the Colonial Relays at College of William and Mary on Friday and Saturday. He took second in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles, with times of 14.07 seconds and 52.17 seconds, respectively. In the 110 hurdles, Campbell now leads the country with his time, and he ranks second in the nation with his 400 time. He held the best time in both races for Division III competitors at the meet.
McGowan was honored with her first CAC Athlete of the Week award of the 2015 season, after tying for sixth in the high jump at the Colonial Relays. Her height of 5' 5" was the best among Division III participants at the event, while it moves her to No. 6 in the country in the event.
Salisbury travels to Johns Hopkins University for the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Saturday, April 11 for its next action; the meet is set for 9 a.m.
