NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association released its 2015 preseason outdoor rankings, and the Salisbury University men's track & field team enters the spring season as the No. 11 team in the country.
The Sea Gulls earned 75.10 points in the poll, with the score based on the Sea Gulls' athletes' individual national rankings during the 2014 season.
This season, Salisbury kicked off its outdoor year at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington Invitational, with the men taking first place in the meet with 169 points.
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse took the top spot in the poll with 201.48 points, with No. 2 University of Mount Union (148.82 points), No. 3 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (132.71 points), No. 4 North Central (Ill.) College (101.93 points), and No. 5 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (98.47 points) rounded out the top-five teams.
Salisbury will be back in action on Saturday, March 28 at the Big Dawg Invitational at UMBC; the meet is set for 9 a.m.
