Salisbury holds spot in USTFCCCA rankings at No. 21

NEW ORLEANS – The Salisbury University men's track & field team continues to hold a spot in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Division III top-25 poll, coming in at No. 21 in the country, the organization announced.

Salisbury earned 37.55 points in the poll, as the Gulls have been ranked every week so far this season.

The Sea Gulls had another strong showing in the 2014-15 indoor season at the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport University, as 19 SU performers landed in the top 10 of their events. Junior Luke Campbell led the way with top finishes in the 400-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles, while notching fifth in the 200-meter dash.

There was some movement in the top five this week, despite the teams remaining the same from last week. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire jumped up to No. 1, switching places with No. 2 North Central (Ill.) College. No. 3 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and No. 4 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse also flipped places, while Mount Union College held at No. 5.

The Sea Gulls get their final preparations before the Capital Athletic Conference championship meet with the Susquehanna Invitational at Susquehanna University on Saturday, February 14; the meet is set for 10 a.m.
